In 2019, the highest gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of major cities in China had been reached in Changsha, ranging at around eight percent per anno. GDP in Shenzhen grew by 6.7 percent, although the economic development of the city is already far ahead of other urban regions in China and per capita GDP in Shenzhen reached the highest value of all major Chinese cities that year.
