Production of dates in Tunisia 2017-2021
In 2021, the production of dates in Tunisia was forecast at 345 thousand metric tons. The quantity generally increased in the period examined. In comparison, 242 thousand metric tons of dates were produced in 2017. Date production constitutes an essential part of the agricultural outputs of the country. The vast majority of dates are derived from the palm trees located in the oasis of southern Tunisia. In 2019, Tunisia was among the world leading producers of dates.
