Share of population by age that were current smokers in the UK 2021
As of 2021, the percentage of young adults between 18 and 24 years of age who currently smoked in the UK was 13.2 percent. The age group in the UK with the highest amount of current smokers was those between 25 and 34 years old, at 15.8 percent of the total population. In the older age groups (55-64, and 65+) there was a prevalence towards reduced smoking rates compared to younger age groups.
