In 2018, fish waste that was generated in Ghana came mainly from fish processing, packaging, and storage. This covered half of the total share of fish loss in the country that year, followed by fish waste that originated from post-harvest handling and storage (30 percent). Moreover, fish food loss in Ghana that came from post-consumption occupied the least share of fish waste (eight percent).
