There are almost 156.9 million full-time workers in the European Union as of 2020, a fall when compared with 2019 when there were approximately 159.2 million full-time workers in the EU. At the time of the financial crash of 2008, full-time workers numbered around 158.7 million, but dropped to 147.9 million by 2013. It was not until ten years later in 2018, that the number of full-time workers recovered to pre-crisis levels.
