Opinions on online voting in Italy 2020, by age

According to a recent survey conducted in Italy, people have a favorable opinions towards electronic voting. As of 2020, 57 percent of people declared to be in favor of online voting. However, 27 percent of them supported this modality only for consultations among the members of a party, while only 30 percent of respondents stated to be in favor of electronic voting for all kinds of elections, e.g. political and administrative elections as well as in a referendum. Overall, young people showed a more positive attitude towards online voting, while respondents aged 55 years and older made up the largest group of people against electronic voting.
