Voting intentions in Italy February 2021

A survey conducted in February 2021 shows that roughly 23.9 percent of Italian voters preferred the right-wing party Lega, Matteo Salvini's party. Additionally, 19.4 percent of respondents supported the Democratic Party (Partito Democratico). The potential share of voters of Movimento 5 Stelle were about 14 percent, while some 17 percent of interviewees supported Fratelli d'Italia.
In January 26, 2021, Italy's previous Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte resigned as a result of an escalation of political instability in the country. Since February 13, Mario Draghi is the new Italian Prime Minister. He has formed a technocratic government. A technocratic government is a transitional government of people with expert skills to overcome a situation of emergency, in which the party system cannot fill the role of a functional cabinet.
