The value of retail sales of confectionery in the United Arab Emirates in 2019 was approximately 523 million U.S. dollars. It grew from about 444 million U.S. dollars in 2015. There was an increase in the demand for snack and ready-to-eat food in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region over the past years due to the increased industrialization, busy lifestyles, and the increasing labor participation rate of women.
