Angola: household consumption expenditure to GDP

The overall household consumption expenditure in Angola as of 2020 corresponded to roughly 63 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product. This was the highest share since 2009, while the lowest was estimated in 2011, at roughly 34 percent. Since then, a gradual increase in household consumption as a share of the GDP occurred annually and almost doubled in 2019 compared to its status in 2011.

It excludes purchases of dwellings but includes imputed rent for owner-occupied dwellings. It also includes payments and fees to governments to obtain permits and licenses. Here, household consumption expenditure includes the expenditures of non-profit institutions serving households, even when reported separately by the country.
