In 2022, jeonse prices of residential houses in South Korea's capital Seoul dropped by around -6.5 percent compared to the previous year. Jeonse is a unique housing leasing system in South Korea. A large sum is paid to the landlord for the rental period, which is usually two years. The deposit is returned to the tenants at the end of the two-year contract.
