Impact of coronavirus on marriage rate in Italy 2020
From March on, the number of marriages which took place in Italy in 2020 experienced a decrease. The coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on the country's marriage rate and significant restrictions on social gatherings and events have been introduced. In particular, during the first wave of infections registered between March and May 2020, the number of marriages dropped by 80.8 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
