
Share of Canadians for or against policies to combat the opioid issue as of 2020
In 2020, nearly 9 in 10 adults were in favor of compulsory treatment programs for people with opioid addiction rather than face jail time. In comparison, just under half of adults were in favor of getting tougher on people who use drugs by fines or jail sentences. This statistic shows the percentage of adults who were in favor of or against four of the most currently discussed strategies to combat the opioid issue in Canada as of November 2020.
