As of November 2021, San Francisco, California was the most expensive metro area for buying a luxury property. The median sale price of the single family homes in the top five percent of the market by market price was 5.3 million U.S dollars. In Miami, Florida, on the other hand, the median sales price of a luxury housing unit was approximately 2.29 million U.S. dollars.
