International trade in the Democratic Republic of the Congo incurred costs of 2,223 U.S. dollars for export border compliance in 2019. This was the highest value paid in Sub-Saharan Africa for a shipment to cross a country's borders due to customs regulations and other mandatory inspections. The regional average was 603 U.S. dollars. The lowest costs for export border compliance were registered in Burundi and Eswatini, respectively, 109 U.S. dollars and 134 U.S. dollars. This latter also recorded the lowest
