Argentina: internet access technologies 2020, by region
Although cable modem was the most popular internet access technology in Argentina, according to a 2020 survey, its penetration in different parts of that South American country varied. In the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (abbreviated as AMBA in Spanish), cable modem's share amounted to 67 percent, while, in the rest of Argentina, it added up to less than 40 percent. Meanwhile, asymmetric digital subscriber lines (ADSL) were found in 27 percent of the households surveyed in countryside Argentina and in 12 percent of responding households in the capital.
