Enrollment in Russia 2018, by gender and educational stage
Nearly 3.1 million university students in Russia were female, compared to over 2.7 million male students in 2018. To compare, in primary school education, the number of male pupils slightly outnumbered that of girls. Russia's upper secondary education counted more than 1.5 million male students.
