Main barriers to education access for migrants in Libya 2021
In 2021, the main obstacle for migrants in Libya to gain educational access was unaffordability, as 81 percent of those were unable to cover educational costs. Another major challenge was the fact that roughly three quarters of migrants did not possess forms of identity cards. Furthermore, 55 percent of migrants found themselves socially alienated, causing them to withdraw from educational programs. Finally, 45 percent said the language barrier was a major obstacle in pursuing education in the country.
