Lithium-ion batteries available for recycling worldwide 2010-2019
The number of lithium-ion batteries available for recycling increased between 2010 and 2019. In 2019, there were around 34.6 gigawatt hours worth of batteries available for recycling, an increase of almost 200 percent compared with 2010. Most of the batteries available for recycling in 2019 were used for portable devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
