Most frequent beach litter items in Spain 2021
In 2021, unidentifiable plastic pieces up to 2.5 centimeters were the type of waste most frequently found on Spanish beaches. In fact, they constituted more than 20 percent of the total waste recovered that year. Cigarette ends and cotton swabs were also amongst the commonly found items.
