Since 2014, 453 incidents of anti-LGBTQ+ related hate crimes have been reported in ten of the 32 federal entities in Mexico where the source is able to collect data from local organizations. The highest number was reported in 2021, when at least 81 such incidents took place. During this period, trans women have been the main target of such hate crimes, representing almost half of the known victims.

Data prior to 2020 refers to ten federal entities in Mexico: Baja California, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Coahuila, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Puebla and Veracruz.
