From October to December 2021, there were 3.3 vacancies per 100 employee jobs in the retail industry in the United Kingdom, the highest level since early 2019. At fewer than one vacancy per 100 employee jobs, the rate was at its lowest in the April-June period in 2020, mostly due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
