China Eastern Airlines: number of air passengers 2010-2021
In 2021, China Eastern Airlines Group reported a passenger traffic of 79.1 million which represents an increase of roughly 5 million from the year 2020. In 2020, the Airlines experienced a decrease in passenger traffic of 42.7 percent from 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. China Eastern Airlines was the third largest airline in the world in terms of passenger numbers in 2020. In the past decade, the number of passengers flying with China Eastern Airlines Group grew steadily, peaking at 130 million in 2019.
