According to a survey conducted among M&A practitioners worldwide in 2021, poor cultural fit, lack of trust among parties, and a lack of commitment among management were indicated as the main factors for M&A deals failure. Unclear strategy and objectives, as well as unclear governance and decision-making structures were also among the main reasons for deals failure.
