Achieving a net-zero emissions in energy mix in Africa by 2050 would cost the continent some 2.8 trillion U.S. dollars, according to the source's estimates. The annual costs of decarbonization would vary in the next decades: 33 billion U.S. dollars between 2020 and 2030, 111 billion U.S. dollars from 2030 to 2040, and 142 billion U.S. dollars between 2040 and 2050.
