Internationally adopted children South Korea 2001-2022, by gender
In 2022, the number of South Korean children adopted abroad amounted to 142, down from 189 in the previous year. The number of adopted boys significantly exceeded that of girls. While international adoptions from South Korea have declined sharply over the past two decades, South Korean adoptees still made up the fifth-largest national group of U.S. overseas adoptions in 2018.
