U.S. senate midterm election highest fundraisers in 2022
According to data analyzed in February 2022, the United States Senate race in Ohio was the most heavily funded, followed by Florida and Georgia respectively. Both Ohio and Florida are thought to ideologically lean Republican, while Georgia is considered to be a toss-up state.
In Ohio, Senator Rob Portman is not seeking re-election. Tim Ryan (D) will face Trump-endorsed candidate J.D. Vance in November’s midterm election.
In Florida, Marco Rubio (R) is running for re-election and, after primary elections in August, is widely expected to face Val Demings (D) in November.
Georgia and Arizona were critical in securing Democrats marginal control of the Senate in 2018. In Georgia, Raphael Warnock is expected to face Trump-endorsed Herschel Walker (R). Mark Kelly (D) is running to hold onto his seat in Arizona, which he flipped in 2020.
