Main ports in the EU based on passenger traffic 2020
In 2020, the Italian Port of Messina was the leading port in the European Union (EU-27) based on the number of embarking and disembarking passengers, handling over 7.7 million passengers. Another port in Italy - the Port of Reggio di Calabria - ranked second, with more than 7.5 million passengers passing through the port in 2020. That year, only about half as many passengers were embarking and disembarking in EU ports as in the previous year.
