A survey from 2021 found that around eight percent of adults in Canada aged 18 to 34 years had suicidal ideation in the past 12 months. A different survey found the prevalence of past-year suicidal ideation among this age group to be five percent in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic may have played a role in the increase from 2019 to 2021 of adults in this age group reporting suicidal ideation.
