Between 2019 and 2022, the majority of people in Ghana with type II diabetes were aged 30-39 years. This referred to a population of over 1.4 million. Individuals 17 years and younger followed, with the number of patients with type 2 diabetes adding up to around 1.1 million. Overall, as of 2022, the average per capita expenditure on diabetes care in Ghana amounted to 53.5 Ghanaian cedis, some 5.3 U.S. dollars.
