The region of Lombardy had by far the largest consumption of natural gas in Italy in 2022, with roughly 16 billion standard cubic meters of gas consumed. Among the main consumers of natural gas in Italy were the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, and Veneto. In total, the natural gas consumption in Italy was over 65 billion cubic meters in 2022.
