Italy: natural gas consumption by sector 2021

Electricity production accounted for the highest consumption of natural gas in Italy in the last few years, with over 31 billion cubic meters. The second sector for natural gas use in Italy was civil uses, with around 30 billion cubic meters, while natural gas consumption in the industry sector was around 11 billion cubic meters. Overall natural gas consumption increased by approximately five billion cubic meters in Italy between 2020 and 2021.
