Unemployment rate in Brazil 1999-2021, by gender

In 2021, 17.7 percent of the female labor force was out of employment, a considerably higher share than the one experienced by men, among which 11.9 percent were unemployed. The unemployment rate of both genders has experienced a similar trend since 1999, although the size of the gender gap has fluctuated remarkably. Overall, both female and male unemployment have experience an upward trend after 2014.
