Russia was the largest economy in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), estimated to occupy 2.8 percent of the world's gross domestic product (GDP) based on purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2024. Other countries in the region contributed significantly less to the global economy. In total, the CIS countries were estimated to represent over four percent of the global economy in 2024.
