Export and import growth in the CIS 2014-2024
Exports from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Georgia, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine, were estimated to have declined by 3.5 percent in physical terms in 2022 compared to the previous year. However, in U.S. dollar terms, the exports grew by 12 percent. As for imports into the region, they decreased both in volume and value terms, by around 15 percent and 11 percent, respectively. According to the forecast for 2023, which excluded Ukraine, the region's exports would decrease in that year, while imports would see an increase relative to 2022.
