Percentage change of LNG exports from the United States 2022, by destination region
In 2022, Europe was the primary importing region for liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States. This was due to a drastic increase in U.S. LNG imports to Europe, amounting to 119 percent in 2022 compared to 2021. However, U.S. LNG exports to Asia and the rest of the world saw a decline of 46 and 55 percent, respectively, over that timeframe.
