In 2022, over a quarter of female respondents from the United Kingdom stated that their motivation for including plant-based milk in their diet is that they enjoy the taste of different foods and drinks. About 13 percent of female respondents mentioned the ill treatment of cows in the production of regular dairy products as a reason to include plant-based milk products in their diet. Male respondents are in comparison more likely to include plant-based milk because they like different tastes and less likely due to the ill treatment of cows, at 29 and 11 percent of respondents, respectively.
