Customer uncertainty about financial future in the U.S. 2018-2023, by quarter
More than a third of all bank account holders expressed concern about their financial future in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2023. According to Statista's Consumer Insights, the share of bank account holders who worried about their financial future was 35 percent in the fourth quarter of 2023, three percentage points higher than in 2018. Uncertainty about the financial future was the highest in 2020, when 38 percent of the respondents indicated skepticism about financial security.
