During a survey conducted among young people aged 15 to 19 living in Australia in 2020, over 50 percent of respondents who identified as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander reported being unfairly treated based on race/cultural background, compared to less than 30 percent of non-Indigenous respondents.

A total of 25,800 young people between the ages of 15 and 19 responded to Mission Australia’s Youth Survey 2020, of which a total of 1,129 respondents identified as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
