Global share of investments in energy transition 2023, by technology
Global investments in the low-carbon energy transition totaled 1.77 trillion U.S. dollars in 2023. The electrified transportation sector accounted for the largest share of investments, at 35.8 percent. Renewable energies – which includes wind, solar, biofuels, and other renewables – followed closely, receiving a 35.2 percent share of global funding.
