In financial year 2022, agriculture constituted about 40 percent of India's rural gross value added (GVA)India, whereas services contributed 32 percent during that period. Over the time span from fiscal year 1994 to 2022, the proportion of agriculture in rural GVA declined, while the shares of services and manufacturing increased in the overall GVA.
