Value of first-time buyer mortgage lending in Ireland 2018-2022
The value of mortgage loans for first-time-buyers (FTBs) granted in Ireland grew by over one billion euros until 2022. In that year, nearly 6.8 billion euros worth of mortgage loans were granted, up from 5.7 billion euros granted in 2021. The sole year that witnessed a minor decline in the value of loans occurred in 2020, with loans amounting to approximately 4.5 billion euros, a decrease from the five billion euros in 2019. Mortgage loans to second and subsequent borrowers experienced a similar trend.
