Removal-based carbon-offset credits purchased worldwide 2020-2022, by select company

Between 2020 and 2022, eight of the top 50 companies worldwide based on revenue purchased 3.11 million removal-based carbon offset credits. The majority of these removal-based offsets were from tree-planting projects, with just a small number based on biochar projects. Shell and Microsoft purchased the highest volume of removal-based credits during this time, at 0.88 and 0.65 million, respectively.
