Average back-to-school costs among girls in the UK 2023, by school year

In 2023, the average back-to-school costs for girls going into Year 10 and 11 in the United Kingdom (UK) reached just under 310 British pounds. In contrast, parents paid an average of just over 210 pounds for girls entering reception, Year one and Year two. The average cost for boys was almost the same for each bracket, however, British parents consistently spent slightly more on back-to-school necessities for girls.
