Share of U.S. older adults who used medications and substances for joint pain, 2022
In 2022, a survey on healthy aging indicated that almost 70 percent of the older U.S. adults with arthritis or joint pain reported using over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers in the past year. Other medications or substances taken by this group were supplements and steroid injections, with 26 and 19 percent, respectively.
