Net irrigated area in India FY 2022, by type
In financial year 2022, tube-wells covered the largest net area under irrigation of more than 36 million hectares in India. This was followed by canals that covered over 19 million hectares of area under irrigation. The net irrigated area across India accounted for over 77 million hectares during the same period.
