Brazil: tobacco production volume 2010-2019

Brazil produces more than 700 thousand tons of tobacco every year. In 2019, production amounted to 769.8 thousand metric tons, an increase of less than one percent in comparison to the previous year. When compared to 2017, this represents a decrease of 12.6 percent. In the past decade, only in 2016 tobacco production fell below 700 thousand tons. The area devoted to tobacco harvesting in Brazil experienced a mostly downward trend in the same period.
