In 2023, the GRDP of East Kalimantan amounted to approximately 843.6 trillion Indonesian rupiah. East Kalimantan is a province in Indonesia where the Capital City of Nusantara will be located.
The Indonesian government is currently developing the Capital City of Nusantara (Ibu Kota Nusantara/IKN) to replace Jakarta as its national capital. The development of Nusantara has started at the end of 2022 and is aimed to be fully completed by 2045. The government estimated that Nusantara would be ready to be occupied and inaugurated in 2024.
