Number of medication brands that lose patent protection 2004-2020
This statistic shows the long term number of prescription medication brands that lose some form of patent protection, by type of patent protection afforded to these medications. In 2016, a total of 16 medication brands will lose patent protection. Eight brands will lose biologics protection, and eight brands will lose small molecule protection.
