Difficulties receiving medical care in the U.S. in 2012, by social class This statistic shows the results of a survey among American adults on whether they have had trouble getting or paying for medical care in the past year, sorted by social class. The survey was conducted in July 2012, shortly before the presidential election. 45 percent of respondents defining themselves as members of the lower class stated they did have trouble getting or paying for medical care in the past year.
