One of ExxonMobil’s current projects is in the oil sands in Canada’s Cold Lake. Work began in the 1970s and the company has promised to spend 150 billion U.S. dollars on the expansion of the project starting in 2012. As of 2016, ExxonMobil has reported 56.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 10.6 million barrels of liquid proved reserves. It is one of the largest refiners in the world.
